Taitokaari trapshooting competition

Leevi's and Hubby's shooting club Pohjois-Hämeen ampujat organized a trapshooting competition In Kokkovuori today. Leevi participated to the competition and hubby worked in the results office. The competition started at 10:00 and ended at 19:00 so it was a long day, especially for hubby who went there already at 8:00. I was watching Leevi's first round and the finale with Sami, grandmother and grandfather.

Six best shooters from every series participate to the finale round. After three rounds Leevi was the fourth and after the finale he was still the fourth. In the group competition his group was the first. Great accomplishment, well done Leevi!

Trapshooting is a specific form of clay target shooting. It requires the accuracy and skill to repeatedly aim, fire and break the 4 1/4 inch disc which are hurled through the air at a speed of 42mph, simulating the flight path of a bird fleeing a hunter - trapshooting was originally developed, in part, to augment bird hunting and to provide a method of practice for bird hunters.

While we were in Kokkovuori Emma and her friend Sanni prepared a three course dinner for themselves! Emma sent me pictures, everything looked delicious. In the evening there were even more kids in addition to Emma and Sanni playing games in our garden, which made me happy.

In the picture Leevi is shooting the finale round. If you look carefully you can see that he hit the orange clay.
