CERN
Although I'm a chemist and not a physicist I knew I had to take the opportunity to visit CERN while in this part of the country. Due to the Large Hadron Collider being in operation we didn't get to see quite as much as some friends had who visited when it was turned off but it was still interesting. The sheer scale of the facility was incredible. We needed to take a bus to get to the different particle accelerators.
After this morning trip I moved on to Morges to see some of the tulip festival. Sadly the lush sunny weather meant most of the flower beds filling the park were looking a bit dry and dead! Then I carried on to Lausanne and saw the lake and Alps from a different angle!
