Full Bloom

Dear Diary,

The crab apple tree behind the house is in full, glorious bloom.  It is such a wonderful sight!  Winter seems a distant memory now.  The air is crisp and very cool this morning, 34 F, but the sun is shinning and every thing looks beautiful.

The lawn got mowed for the first time yesterday and that is another sure sign that we are moving towards summer although there is still snow on Mount Washington.  Here in the valley we are enjoying green grass and flowers.

I was able to get out yesterday and dead head some of the daffodils which are past their peak and set out the supports for the peonies.  I missed my peonies last year when I was in Ireland so they will be greatly appreciated this year.
