Fields near Trendelburg
Today’s small tour went through the fields of the Deiselberg and into a town called Sielen. One of the many medieval residences alongside the Diemel river. As so many of the peasant villages in this Northern region of Hessen, Sielen is quiet, off-road. An intimate world in its own. You can have a chat with an inhabitant, if you are interested too. And you are rewarded with little stories about the storks on their wheelpoles. About the camels, kept as cattle. A dog barks here and there. The laundry hangs drying in the warm wind. Its a sunny almost midsummer day. And together we walk around and between the Fachwerk-houses with their pious wood-inscriptions. There are big old buildings in decay, houses for sale, that nobody wants to buy. Many young people have moved out to the major big cities, where they can find a job to pay their rent.
Who is here to enjoy the beauty and serenity of these surroundings? During high season foreigners come to rent a holliday-home, to paddle and bath in the Diemel. But most time of the year these rural regions seem to live on their forgotten existence. Thats why we love to make our Blipexcursions here. For reason of resemblence in character, perhaps.
