The Park Bell

Picture of Robert's Park bell, with the New Mill Saltaire, in the background. Built in 1871.
The chimney is a replica of the campanile of the Santa Maria Glorisa, in Venice.
The Rules of Saltaire Park, issued by Sir Titus Salt, Bart, Sons and Company. July 1871.
No 3. The time of closing will be indicated each day by the ringing of the bell, and all visitors are then required to leave.
We have spent a nice day with our friends who are over from Spain.
Fellow Blipper Northernlass261 and husband.
As it was pouring down this morning we decided to go to Salt's Mill, as they had never been before.
Unfortunately the Hockney exhibition was closed, but we had a good look round the rest of the mill, and a coffee in the cafe.
Then a walk through the village, and after lunch, a walk round Robert's Park.
The rain had stopped and we had some sunshine, but the wind nearly blew us away!
Not good for taking photos!
A lovely day spent with our friends, just a pity about the weather. I think it will be warmer when they get back home!

Many thanks for the stars and hearts for yesterday's  butterfly  which reached page 3 of the popular pages.
Never been on page 3 before!!
