A tiny bird

This very small bird was found by Max the dog in our garden. It was simply on the ground, blinking but otherwise still. Max just lay down and watched it without wanting to interfere with it. Clearly it is a new born bird of some kind and does not appear to be in distress. Eventually it toddled off into the bushes and out of sight.

So what is it? Is it ok or has it lost its Mum?
