How to make a dog smile

A walk along the river in the sunshine with lots of happy people spilling out of pubs and really quite desperate to spend part of their afternoon lavishing affection on a cute puppy. Our rate of movement was quite slow. I got a little confused that we weren't stopping in any of these fine establishments until I realised Carlos had his eye on the prize of the last pub along the river before we turn off. After all that attention Albi was happy with her dog bowl and a big stick to chew on.

Prior to this she'd had her first tube ride which, like everything so far, left her completely unfazed.

Meanwhile the kids were at part 1 of my godson's 11 year old birthday party. And after suitably tiring the pup out so she wouldn't notice our absence we headed to join them for a very splendid part 2.

Jackson continues to do really well and needed an earlier night than everyone else but was very smart about looking after himself and letting us know that. We continue to keep everything crossed but it is all good progress and makes us all smile.
