Mother's Day - Paddington Reservoir
Really nice day with Mum today - no particular plans - just a go with the flow kind of day.
We ended up in Paddington - lunch at the Wine Library (a glass each but there for the food). Afterwards a stroll down to the multi-award winning Paddington Reservoir conversion - a public space so inspiring that all I can say is, if you haven't seen it I would urge you to chooffle on down. The juxtaposition between the old and the new, so deftly handled. The materials, the angles, the soft against the hard surfaces, the different levels, oh, the loveliness goes on and on.
And just across the road, Juniper Hall. Leased for 99 years by the Moran family and now a great art space. It was originally built in 1925 by Robert Cooper, a convict and former publican who built this house for his wife Sarah and 14 children from the proceeds of his very successful gin distilling business. Hence the name. On return today I had a g&t in his honour - no problem.
The roads were clogged today, and after a lovely afternoon with Mum, collected Bob from the airport where he had been spending the last 5 days with Zoe, transporting her to Broken Hill for a three month stint at the hospital.
And so life goes.
