From the A1M in Yorkshire
Spent most of the day travelling to Richmond where we're spending a week with six other friends in the Coach House, doing some walking and visiting, eating and drinking.
Thankfully another safe and uneventful journey arriving at 3.00pm. Time to say hello and nice to see you all again, especially to our friend Marion from Whitby, Ontario who is over in England for an extensive holiday and is joining us for the third time.
Unpacked, moved all the food in, explored the house which is old but very acceptable then went for a short stroll around the very impressive town of Richmond, around the Castle, down to the Swale Falls and alongside the River Swale. It's a nice part of the country here.
Had a very enjoyable meal out at a French Bistro called La Rustique, where the serving staff spoke a mixture of broad Yorkshire or Scots, which didn't quite create the atmosphere the proprietor would have wanted.
A long(ish) 10 mile stroll planned for tomorrow.
