... The Royal Mile.

I stayed up fairly late watching movies while the Election results came in but gave up before most of them were in so when I woke up late this morning I was pretty shocked to see the Conservatives had a majority. The exit polls had suggested they would get the largest vote but not enough for a majority and I was half expecting another coalition, although, to be honest, I was hoping Labour might gain enough seats to consider an SNP coalition. On the bright side the SNP won almost all the Scottish seats.

After looking over the results I went into town and had a wander about, this shot was taken at the bottom of Cockburn Street looking up Warriston Close leading up past "The Real Mary King's Close" (I'm not sure if there is a fake one) to The Royal Mile. Given my dodgy hip, I took the slightly easier/longer route up Cockburn Street :-)
