Queen's Tower View

It was a blast from the past for Annie today. We visited Imperial College London which was holding a weekend festival, a chance for the college to show the range of things it does. Part of the weekend's events were laid on for the alumni and this included visits to parts of the college that are usually out of bounds. Annie, as a former student was invited and we were able to climb the Queen's Tower and learn about the interesting history of this building and how it managed to survive the widescale modernisation of Imperial College in the 1960s. 324 steps up, we were able to take in the fabulous panoramic views of the city of London. The blip is a stiched panorama of 15 shots, I've popped an extra shoto in to show the outside of the tower.

Afterwards we went to the Union bar and were able to request Annie a pint in her tankard that sits behind the bar. If you hold a students' union position, then you get your name engraved on the tankard for that position.

With lovely weather, it was a great day out in London and a chance for me (Chris) to see where Annie spent her university years.
