God Save The Queen!
Woke up to the pitter patter of......no, not tiny feet, how many times...the baby isn't here yet! The pitter patter of Manchester rain. And it didn't stop all blinking day.
Didn't look like it was just a Manchester thing for once either. The whole country was a washout - taking BBQs, garden parties and maxi dress plans down with it.
My sister Jo popped by for a spot of lunch and we watched some of the Jubilee pageant footage from the Thames. There was a real sense of Dunkirk spirit in spite of the deluge. Everyone desperately trying to get on with the proceedings, ignoring the rain!
The poor Queen looked tired, cold and miserable. She is eighty-odd after all and she was standing on the drafty platform waving to passing boats for almost three hours. I'd have had a sense of humour failure after the first hour! She deserves her crown for enduring that alone!
In other news, I went out for a drive in the new car and finally got to try it myself. Very big, very scary but I love it!
Today's picture is of our Jubilee themed dining room chair. Fit for a queen, or in this case my rather sizeable pregnant behind.
