Fort Pickens

Beautiful weather to visit  Fort Pickens - the kids love exploring here and this year it was not as hot as it has been on previous visits.
And...we discovered that the Blue Angels were practising over the NAS at Pensacola while we were here so we sat on top of the fort and watched the show across the water - bonus.
Later we visited the little museum, watched a very cool Navy ship coming through the sound, and some scuba divers cleaning fishing debris from under the pier.  Then we wandered along the beach to the end of the sand bar - so beautiful...will try to add pics in my "extra pics".
We found a rather beat up but still alive starfish washed up, so we returned him to the water, and a little hermit crab - altogether a fabulous and full day of exploring :0)
