Wood Pigeon

We've spent much of the afternoon in the garden and the smells, colours and birdsong have all meant it's been a very relaxing time;  the garden is looking good, and it's been the perfect Bank Holiday as far as I'm concerned.

Today I've taken a photo of the humble Wood Pigeon;  we have a pair who have just discovered the wonderful source of food at out feeder and they're calling in on a regular basis.  I much prefer the smaller birds and I'm hoping they're not planning on bringing a new family here to see us;  still I must admit he/she is a handsome bird and they do make me smile when they're waddling around the lawn.
