Clematis Alpina 'Willy'

I've been waiting aaaages for this early clematis to open up. My daughter bought it for me some years ago and it's always the first one to come into flower. I love the wedgewood blue of the petals.
Family lunch and daughter's salted caramel ginger cupcakes at tea time. Some weeding done and planted a Clematis Niobe behind the newly planted bay tree against a trellis. Will complete the planting tomorrow with some Bergenia Baby Doll at the front of the border. Serious discussions with my daughter took place, each of us holding some bamboo canes and circling round the vege patch. No conclusions were reached and the bamboos were returned to the shed.
