The Ducklings: Stage Four

The three ducklings were painted nearly to how I want them.
Next I tried to figure out how to make reflections of their bodies
on the water.  The middle foreground demonstrates that.
The fourth duckie behind the cattail is gradually being hidden
with more bullrush-type leaves.  I just make those up as I go.
Perhaps only its head will only be peeping out....The newest
problem is that the left side is weighted down with viewer interest
and an imbalance is occurring.  I will have to put bugs on the
bullrush plants on the right to draw the viewers' eyes  back into the composition......Typically, as in past paintings,
the composition is becoming too busy and I am lacking a center of interest.....Why do I overload my paintings so with places the
viewer's eye can travel.....It is a chronic problem with my paintings.
The artist is supposed to control where the viewer's eye should
look and my paintings become then too busy......I never learn that
solving one problem only causes others....sigh!
