Orange Dahlias and Designer Handbags

"When bright flowers bloom
Parchment crumbles, my words fade
The pen has dropped ..."

-  Morpheus (god of dreams, from the Roman poet Ovid's Metamorphoses)

A busy day, starting with a visit from a local estate agent to value Mum's home for us to add to the Probate form for Dad's Will.  Then my niece joined Mum and me for lunch.  Afterwards, we popped into the library and bought four large print ex-stock books for Mum at 10 pence each.  In the charity shop opposite, I bought an immaculate chocolate brown suede designer handbag for £7 - it didn't even look as if it had been used.  Bargains all round!  All too soon my niece headed for home, and I set off in the sunshine for a walk around Tiptree village.  You couldn't miss the shelf outside Tesco filled with bright orange dahlias.  There really are no words to fully describe the beauty of a flower.  The pen drops indeed.
