Theatricals

HH gave us both a fright this morning, by declaring that he felt dizzy and was coming out in a cold sweat. Off we went to the hospital - foolishly, I drove there, as we were both quite calm, but some idiot started to open the door of a taxi as we went past and caused a nasty dent to the side of the car. I didn't stop, as HH took priority, but I hope the wretched person got a nasty fright and learned a lesson. Luckily, I don't think they had opened the door enough to start getting out.

It turns out that HH's blood pressure, usually very even and normal, had dropped pretty low, so they put him on a drip and also did a cardiogram. Then he was dismissed, and advised to see a cardiologist soonish, but not urgently.

He was feeling sufficiently normal by the evening to celebrate with other former thespians the return to Rio (unfortunately, only for a visit) of one of our number. Towards the end of the evening, he was called on to recite the Nightmare Song from Iolanthe (he having played the part of the Lord Chancellor), and our visiting friend decided to record it for posterity. An excellent evening, and HH found that a couple of beers with friends is a great remedy for low blood pressure.

I hope he's not going to repeat this prank.
