A Bit Of A Mess
When we started out rebuilding work, almost a year ago, our previous builder asked us if he could lose a small quantity of rubble at the edge of our pond. We agree that he could remove a little topsoil at the point where the pond flooded into the garden, place the rubble beneath it and regrade the soil. What he actually did was to remove, what we now estimate was some 80 or more tonnes of good quality top soil, which can nowhere be found, leaving the pond in this dreadful mess; he was summarily dismissed by us because of this. We are now about to try and restore our pond to its previous size and shape. Our present builder expects this to be a fairly substantial job, which he intents to commence tomorrow and continuing as and when he has spare time between the other work he is undertaking. I will post further blips as the work progresses.
