Honey's Holiday

Yesterday was the end of Honey's Holiday stay in Kent. We had lots of fun over the last week from attracting pilots' attention at the airfield to early morning treks around the garden chasing cats and birds to an adventurous walk in strong winds on the North Downs.

We had a road trip to Brighton, a visit to Kent gliding club, sunbathing in pub gardens, roof down fun in the car and cosy snuggles in front of the telly and sometimes on the bed (when I wasn't looking)!

I'm not quite sure whether I was looking after Honey or whether she was looking after me the past week. Somehow how we muddled through and my four legged fluffy friend kept me calm and smiling.

The cottage seems so quiet and empty without the sound of her paws scuttling across the floor or her adorable 'gruff' 'gruff' pretend bark at villagers walking past my window. I'll miss her the next few days as I get used to my own routine again and no doubt will be walking around the house talking to myself from time to time!

There's a lot to be said for a furry companion. I just wish my lifestyle would allow me to make it permanent. I'll just have to borrow friend's pooches for company instead!
