Blip of desperation ... comfort food
Ok. It was a miserably cold day. There were hail and sleet showers every time I thought it had been sunny long enough to tempt me out. And besides, I swam half a mile before breakfast and a morning of assiduous and energetic domesticity. Anyway, whatever the reason, I found myself at dinnertime with no blips, so here's my comfort food for an unseasonably chilly day...
Venison sausages from Morrison's (quite the best supermarket sausages I've tasted, with a texture closer than most to the Italian sausages I prefer). Monk's potatoes (spuds, onion, rosemary, olive oil, salt & pepper). And cavilo nero fried in olive oil with garlic and a chopped chili.
