We went on a half day minibus trip to the Nuns' Valley. The driver, who is also the owner of the company is a - yes, you guessed - a Saffer. We had a good skinder (gossip) in Afrikaans about the others on the trip. One thing that was proved again was that you just have something in common with your fellow countrymen - even if one is a "Porra" from Durban, one a Jo'burg "Engelsman" & the other an Afrikaans farm girl from the Free State; there's just a link that one don't get with foreigners, no matter how much you have in common on paper.

As expected, Madeira did not disappoint. Beautiful scenery and interesting facts. 

Back at the hotel we lay in the sun, jacuzzied, had a snooze - holiday stuff.

Had boerewors & wedges fro dinner.
