Great Asby Scar Reserve
Good to be home after a hectic week of rushing around - with a firm plan to spend a lazy day with the two ladies in my life.
Whilst the sky was gloriously blue this morning I'd hazard a guess that the ambient temperature has dropped a good ten degrees since I was last on the fell - so we wrapped up warm and headed up & into the reserve. We saw two coast to coaster early on - but after that we had a lovely six mile circuit all to ourselves. The fell is starting to burst into colour - if you look closely - the dog violets are starting to carpet the sheltered south facing slopes - the grikes are filling with rare ferns, tormentil is starting to appear - and the air is filled with the song of sky larks and the cries of the curlews. After a yesterdays news it was good to simply be out in this tranquillity and let nature work its magic on us again.
