The crowd are on their feet

Well, not quite for another month
I'm not a Golfer; I've never really got it. But I know it gives a huge number of people a huge amount of pleasure.
And I can certainly get into watching the world's best players in The British Open.
I can also appreciate the work that has gone into making the fairways and greens looking absolutely magnificent.

This is Royal lytham St Annes getting ready for The Open in July. This stand has a capacity of around 2500, and there is another opposite.
After I'd taken this and a few more I ventured inside the Club House. Well the door was open! I was well dressed in shirt and trousers, but no jacket and tie, and although there were no members using the club rooms I did respect those areas and only looked from outside them.

It must be a very special place for the members to be able to be in the Club House and see the final players coming down the final hole. I got chatting to one of the members and he was telling me the members still have full access to the club house during The Open, they just can't play golf.
But he had enjoyed a round this morning and he said the course is playing the best it ever has in the many years he has been a member.
It must be great to be a member of a Royal Golf Club in the build up to The Open. You get to play the best course on offer.

In just 21 days The Olympic Flame will set off from here. I only find out my exact location 7 days beforehand. It made its first appearance in Lancashire today and I was blown away by the reception it received. And top marks to Radio Lancashire for their coverage.
