In The Garden

We had a day of wonderfully mild summer weather and yet I was too busy to look for a serious blip. Heading home I stopped at the Warrington Garden (which I've blipped a few times before) and chatted with a friend about urban wildlife (she volunteers at a rescue station), the condition of the garden's back wall (part of the factory that preceded the garden), and little things we both remember of the long life of this thriving farm in the city.

Pictured here is the South end of the garden, on Warrington Avenue. It's a fancy, fully developed community garden now --a world beyond the sparsely planted, weedy lot it was when I first saw it over twenty years ago. The place is bursting forth with nourishing food at this time of year and always overflowing with memories.
