The Office Duck

For the last few years we have had a pair of mallard ducks mate and nest in our parking lot. We get very protective of our office duck, carefully watching for her each time we go out. Yesterday two birds flew into one of the windows and several of us ran out, ready to make an emergency trip to the wildlife rehabilitation centre, pet carrier in hand! But it turned put no one was injured. The male was just protecting his girl from two amorous intruders. Today she's resting in the shade of the front door. Never a dull moment in community nursing!
