"New" Theatre Royal

be and I have been happily married for 43 years today.

No big celebration, but we went to Phantom of the Opera at the Theatre Royal which has been restored after the earthquake and recently re-opened.

It seems just like the old Theatre Royal, same roof dome and angels, same (but presumably new) red stage curtain, and same decorations on the private viewing boxes at the side of the stage (why are these boxes never used?).

The acoustics were amazing and the production was excellent, though this isn't one of our favourite musical shows.

Still, a good night out.
