RoozenGaarde Tulips

This tulip is called "Magier". Clean, feminine, and effortlessly elegant, it is one of my favourites that I discovered today at RoozenGaarde.

The weather was wonderful. The sun was shining. The wind was quite strong and persistent, and out in the fields, I could hear the fluttering sounds made by the petals as the wind blew through the rows of tulips :)

The tulip fields were nice, but I preferred looking at the different kinds of tulips in the display garden. There were so many different colours and kinds, even tulips with fringed petals and double-flowered tulips that resembled peonies! I was also rather amused by the "creative" names of some of the tulips. "Cash", "Alibi", "Kung Fu", and even "Chinatown"??? Come on! There have to be better names for these beautiful flowers! Personally, I thought the worst name was "Outbreak". The petals on this kind of tulip are yellow, with a red border. As a biologist, all I could think of was "Ebola outbreak", or an epidemic of some other pathogen...
