Chur old town "altstadt"
Chur is the capital of Graubunden the largest of the 26 regions of Switzerlnad. It dates back to 9000BC and parts of the old town have been rebuilt after fires ravaged the city. The cathedral and bishop's palace, seen above, dominate the town, which sits at the junction of several mountain valleys. The history is well documented in the Rhaetian Musuem, which we visited along with St Martin's church and the Cathedral.
For a city it is incredibly quiet and deserted, but we were glad to see many of the restaurants full on a Saturday night. Making the most of the different world cuisines, we opted for the Argentinian restaurant: great food, great atmosphere.
