Bear's claw
Yesterday, one of my students asked me if I knew where the beer was? He is 14 and from Turkey so I tried not to sound too unsurprised at the question. It turned out he was actually asking where the Be-ar was as he was just pronouncing it as he saw it written.
There have been sightings of a lone male bear who comes up to the valley from Italy from time to time. He doesn't stay long as there aren't females to keep him here.
In the village square is a fountain, on the fountain stands a bear. The Bear's claw is the emblem of the oldest and most prominent family of the village of Zuoz. The dominant house in the square was own by them and looks out at this fountain.
