Wallington Hall & gardens
I wanted to go to the coast today but my husband was desperate to go to his favourite place, Wallington in Northumberland. We've gone there loads of times but he loves the gardens. We debated the matter and he won this time....
Wallington is a property and gardens near Morpeth in Northumberland. It was given to the National Trust by MP Sir Trevelyan in 1941. The house is beautifuly decorated inside and wonderful to see but the highlight for us is the walled gardens. Everytime we visit we buy a plant from the conservatory and wander the gardens. I took lots of photographs of the flowers (as usual) and thought I'd blip these brightly coloured tulips in front of the conservatory. On our walk around the grounds we saw a lively pheasant and young lambs frolicking in the field. We returned to the clock tower cafe for a fruit scone (with jam & cream) and a coffee. Difficult to choose what to blip so combined my tulip photo and a photo of the clock tower. On the drive home, I wanted to stop off at Belsay Hall or Bolam lake but I was convinced to leave it for another day since we both have work to do. So much to see and do but not enough time....
