Balmer Lawn

This spot on the river next to the hotel we've been staying at has played host to lots of families over the last two days, picnicking on the banks and paddling in the shallow waters, like a scene from an idyllic fifties childhood.

This morning it was calm and tranquil just before we left.

Called in at my sister and brother-in-law's on our way back for a sunny lunch of Italian meats, breads, olives and tomatoes washed down wit a glass of Sicilian red wine. They're off to Sicily for a week on Sunday and wanted to get in the mood.
