Perhaps not representative of the day. I've volunteered to take part in a parks and open spaces bird survey., and not having much experience at this kind of thing, I spent the morning with one of the more experienced local birders to get an idea of how to do the survey. It was not the best time to take my big lens so I just took a smaller camera along. The highlight of the survey was a pair of Sparrowhawks nesting high up in the trees , but I noticed quite a few of these Slime Moulds along the way. Volunteering at Longshaw tomorrow.
