Death of a redwing

A beautiful thrush redwing (my mistake!) flew into the window of our reception desk today, attracted maybe by the window at the back and expecting to fly straight through. Unfortunately he was going at a fair rate of knots and was killed outright.

Although this has never happened before it sometimes happens at home where we have windows at both ends of the kitchen. Very sad.
