The Dooh Dah Tree

Day Thirty-Four

"The Dooh Dah tree, the Dooh Dah tree,
The finest tree you ever did see,
Last July it grew so high,
It poked right out through the sky,
Sailor say if your down that way,
Between half past two and three,
You'll see Tarzan with his apes,
A big banana and a bunch of grapes.

A 'nonsense' song sung by my Dad to all his grandchildren and much loved by Sarah, Barry, Samantha and Joshua. When asked by Sam what a Dooh Dah Tree looked like my Dad pointed to Pampas Grass so after his death we planted A Dooh Dah Tree in the front garden.
Those who have it themselves will know how quickly Pampas Grass grows so today having cleaned the path, trimmed the hedge and put a shelf up in the porch I took three hours to dig out our Dooh Dah Tree.
I hope I got it all otherwise next spring it's likely to re-appear.
