The sun returned to Basel today so after church Penni and I bought some picnic-y things and settled down for a nice chilled afternoon reading in one of Basel's parks. I'm currently reading David Nicholls' 'Starter for Ten' which I'm enjoying because, like the protagonist, I was a fresher at university and I even had a short stint on Strathclyde's University Challenge team. Sadly we didn't make it past the audition rounds.

In the evening we went to see Basel's production of the Lion King. It was in English - well all the bits that weren't in Swahili and Xhosa. It was just as good as I remembered it when I last saw it about the age of 12. The music is great plus the design and puppetry is so clever!
