Segregation

You would think that old friends/old hens would want to hang out together, but of the oldies we only have two hens left; one black one and Blanche, the big white Sussex who survived the massacre of last May, and they don't.
Blanche prefers to spend her time with the white hens, and as you can see they lay their eggs in separate nesting boxes too! the black hens have laid the brown eggs on the left and the White hens have laid the pale eggs on the right. Nobody uses the third box, not in shot here, and I've no idea why!
