Messy church

We had spectacular tears before school today. She did Not want to return to school. But after breakfast and a reminder that she has new uniform, she recovered. She ran most of the way to school in her new dress, cute white frilly ankle socks and summer sandals.

She said she had a good day and that the best bit was making a rocket in the playground. She said they talked about pets in Christian club today.

After school I took her to Messy Church. We haven't been before as Tuesday used to be the day my parents visited, but that's changed so we gave it a go. She had fun- she knows the place and the leaders so if wasn't daunting- and did lots of crafts etc.

We did lots of reading at bedtime. She'd been looking forward to reading a ballet book we got from the library but it turned out to be pretty naff. So we moved onto her first Darcey Bussell ballerinas book. I read it to her tonight, but she's looking forward to reading some too. For her reading, she chose some more of "old possums book of practical cats". She is enjoying it so much that she has asked for a copy of her own. I love that books 100years old can be just as appealing today
