Fee Fi Fo Fum!!!

So luckily I was able to wake up on time to catch my bus to the uni for today's trip. The unfortunate thing was, I was an hour too damn early for the trip!

My 740am bus from Leam was spot on which was very rare and so I was at the Uni even before 820am. It was starting to drizzle as i left Leam and rain started pouring as the bus arrived at the Uni. I got off in front of the Physics department and walked towards the University House. I was expecting coaches to be already stationed at the parking lot when i got there but no one was in sight. No people, no coaches. It was odd and so i checked my trip ticket. Lo and behold! Trip will not leave until 10am. GRAAAHHHHH!!!!! Dripping wet and frustrated for the 1 hour sleep that I could have done if i had known of the time, I walked straight to my lab and started working instead. It turned out my labmate Yuanwei was also joining the trip although he knew that the coach would leave at 10am.

Trip to Bourton-on-the-Water was a quick one hour drive. But i actually wished it was longer since I honestly slept in the coach the entire journey. The town was very small (at least the town centre) but a lot of people were up and about. We had been lucky to have a very nice cool and sunny weather. They have this stream (or maybe the River Windrush) running in the middle of town and children and dogs alike were actually allowed to walk in it. The water was just a foot deep and so little kids could enjoy walking the whole stretch with just their wellies on (some were brave enough to walk barefoot).

I had a nice time doing a very organized (and equipment packed) selfie at the Model Village. They have this 1/9th replica of the town buildings. I feel so powerful standing beside the tiny houses and buildings. They even have a Model Village of the Model Village of the Model Village (doing the maths, they have 1/729th models of the buildings in the town! ). It was like Model Village Inception!

Went to challenge myself in the Dragonfly Maze as well. "Maze runners" were to find 14 stones with marks on them and decipher a message at the end in order to determine how to make the dragonfly appear which was situated in the middle of the maze. The first stone was a picture of a fish, which was actually called Plaice. I would not have known that that was the word until I figured it out from the next few clues (the next clue was Y beside an oar - so that was "your" and the next clue was "hand"). It could not be "Fish your hand". So naturally it would make sense that the word would be "Place". I didnt even know there was a fish called Plaice before that! Anyway, the maze was quite confusing for the first 10mins as I kept on coming back at the start. But eventually I got to the other half of the maze and then into the middle. When I arrived at the centre, there was a couple already trying to figure out the puzzle. I knew that we have to place our hand on the monkey which was on the wall but the girl figured it out for us. She did place one of her finger on one of the monkeys but nothing happened. She then placed one finger on each of the monkeys and the large frog in the middle opened its mouth and showed us the dragonfly. Maze solved! All in all it took me 25minutes to finish it. The maze owner (who was a Warwick alumna!) advertized that the fastest was 20mins.
