A day for the girls today. A joint gym class activity session followed by Bluewater. Today in a blue tone with Cinderella inspiration. The store, the movie, the talking about it All The Way Home. Little H's gasps of delight were really appreciated by some older girls next to her. The film is a sumptuous glorious Branagh film with lots of acting talent, textural landscapes and swelling music. Little S was convinced that the wicked stepmother was a witch and said so loudly throughout. She adored Helena B-C as the fairy godmother and asked for her return at all other moments. Little H enjoyed comparing this film with the cartoon and then every version of the story that she has in books and magazines. The message is lovely and clear: we only have to have courage and be kind. We haven't stopped talking about the film ever since.
