Hum-dinger Of A Poser

I made a quick trip up to Madera Canyon late in the day and caught this gorgeous Broad-billed hummingbird strutting his stuff.  Most of his buddies were flitting around, but this guy seemed to want to sit for a few seconds for us photo folks to get off a few good snaps.

I didn't stick around very long.  It seemed that the last of the snowbirds were getting in their final trips up the mountain to see the birds and other wildlife which is abundant there. 
Soon, it will be just the summer wildlife and us...the year-round residents...going up to escape  the heat and to enjoy the peacefulness and quiet the way it is supposed to be.  Nature-ally.
