Phew!

There's a good reason why we can't have kids in our 60's and 70's! I think we are a pretty fit couple but we are exhausted after 3 days of looking after a stubborn 2 year old and a teething 6 month old, especially after a few days of walking the hills and partying with our own guests.

James was up having a feed at 4 am and then I heard Thomas open my door at 5.20 am. I ignored that and he went back to his room to push the furniture around till his glow clock showed the "sun was up" (meaning he's allowed out of his room) at 6 am when he arrived again. We had a chat and then our day started. Football and running about in the garden till it rained took up some time and by the time the parents got home this afternoon I wasn't even quite sure what day it was.

It was all worthwhile as #2 daughter really appreciated it and had had a lovely time at the Scottish wedding. Though we did say before there is a next time the boys will need to keep more civilised hours.

To cap it all we then had to transport a nursing chair and Moses basket over the Tyne to a friend After a teething shouting James I hope I was able to show enough enthusiasm for another squawking baby.

This must be one of the most welcome G & T ever.
