Brough of Deerness

Slow start to the morning but made it down to Deerness for a walk along the cliffs. Crossed a tiny pathway along the edge to a stack with a small Norse settlement, just the church could be made out. Some stunning views, but still no Puffins in sight! Had our lunch looking out to sea and then back to Kirkwall to have a final look around the shops and a visit to the Orkney museum where we saw all the finds and trinkets that had been uncovered in all the sites we have been visiting over the last few days. Was nice to put it all into some sort of context. Definitely not ready to be heading home tomorrow.
