A slice of Lesley's life

On the last day of the holidays we have finally managed to do the one request Anna made - go for a bike ride. Largely made possible by J heading out on his ownsome to meet one of his mates for a kickabout in the park. First time they've really done that so it was a little lesson in kitting himself out with wallet, keys and phone. All seemed to go very well and they had a great time playing football and going for bubble tea (no I don't know what it is and despite having now had it explained to me twice I'm still not a great deal wiser but he quite liked it).

Anyway, that outing meant me and A could get our bikes out. We were nearly thwarted by chains falling off and flat tyres but we persevered and were rewarded with a fun ride in the sun and earning an ice-cream.

Anna and I held up the end of holiday tradition with take-out pizza and a movie (Alexander and the not good, horrible, terrible day). After the excitement of the afternoon outing J made it through pizza but headed to bed before the film.

And now a double bill for me as Carl and I are going to watch The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Like the whole holiday it's been a mixed day but I reckon over all I'm going to go with more good rather than not good.

So that's good then.
