Autumn Colours
Today I mowed the lawns - the second time this week that they've had to be mowed. The good thing about this is that it means that the grass in the paddocks is finally starting to grow, assisted by the wet weather and warm, humid temperatures we have been having. Up until now, Farmerboy says we've had a 'green drought' - the grass is green, but hasn't been growing.
So today we dried off some more cows. It's that time of the year that the cows don't want to be going to the shed to be milked; they think it is time to have a holiday. The cows dried off today will be able to enjoy their 'holiday' until they start calving again in spring.
Autumn is my favourite time of the year. Things on the farm are starting to slow down, the grass is growing, and the autumn colours from the leaves falling produce a beautiful landscape - and provides ideal photographic opportunities.
