Cinderella

If my wishes had come true, that young woman in the foyer would have been wearing either rags and tatters or a gorgeous ball gown. And that pesky lad wouldn't have been in shot, because Cinderella doesn't have a kid brother, and she isn't a single mother.

The film was reviewed rather disparagingly as a "perky, pretty, irony-free lavender-scented cupcake of a fairytale adaptation". And so it is, all 105 wonderful minutes of it. Worth going to for the mice alone.

There's a more modern version of the tale here (Thanks, Rex)
