2000. Day 1.

5years 163days

It's officially our 2000th entry today - a backblip. I wobbled about posting this or posting a celebration one and then backblipping. But I decided not. Because I love this image. Both as a photo of a dear friend that my girl adores and as a photo that sums up our Blipfoto experience. This captures my girl having a very special time with a loved friend. And we met this friend through Blipfoto. J has followed us since Katie was very small. Both light up together. It's wonderful. Katie is wearing a gorgeous cardigan that J made as a surprise for her. So this is our 2000th entry (though not really- on the "old" system, we are still 190 away or something). Thank you Blipfoto for bringing these people into our lives, for holding Katie's life memories safely for me. Please keep doing all these things.

Anyway, the reason J and Katie are snuggled together was that today was the start of our London adventures. We got an early train, headed into the city by 9.30am. Katie and I set out on our first Shaun the Sheep hunt and explored the Barbican, St Paul's, the Millenium Bridge, the Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern. In the course of this we found play art for spinning and bouncing and rocking on; we met the husband of one of the Shaun designers and photographed him with the Shaun for his wife; we sang "feed the birds" on the steps of St Paul's. We had a glorious time.

We then met J at the Tate. It was still quite quiet and Katie had a great time in the huge halls, playing with a wind up bug that J had bought for her. We explored a Marlene Dumas exhibition, which Katie was a bit underwhelmed by, apart from a portrait of Princess Diana, some of small children and one of Christ on the cross. She had a great time creating her own art at the interactive response area, and seeing it "Exhibited", both in the gallery and in the Flickr gallery. We took her out for a late lunch and she had a wonderful time playing with J as we ate. They had a fabulous time playing together in the sunshine, Katie teasing J as she tried to photograph her/her and I/me. It was far too quickly time to say goodbye.

Katie and I headed over to our lovely friends, Lyra and family. The girls were heading down the road as we walked up to them. The girls havent been together in a year, but it didn't matter for a second. They were just immediately back where they left off. Tea was munched, they were straight into playing in the bath together, they were generally very happy.

An excellent, excellent day
