Easter flowers
These little crocus and a visiting fly (?) or bee enjoyed some sunshine this day after Easter Sunday.
We had a totally memorable Easter Sunday here. The 'totally' came from the fact that the van (Dave & Ellen's) that we were riding in on our way to a big Easter party way out in the Butternut Valley countryside. The van got TOTALLED by a young guy driving his rental car too fast through a flashing stop light. TThese friends only had this van for a year. Their insurance (GEICO) will pay for my ER visit. Nice.
The accident was like being in a violent amusement park ride. Strapped in and feeling snug in my back seat I felt the van swirl about three times before landing in a ditch full of flowing cold water.
Not one of us in the van were hurt... sore today because the muscles moved a lot. Not sure of the condition of the young man because he got sent to a different hospital. We got checked out at the (local) Norwich ER. Then the wonderful neighbour, Dick-- who mows, plows , plumbs, etc. for me -- picked us up in his Subaru, drove the my friends to their farm where I got into my car and calmly drove by to Dick & his wide's house where we ate some of the shrimp cocktail I had brought for an appetizer for the party that never happened, Then Dick made us small pizzas... Easter dinner.
Today I followed the ER doctor's orders by resting, taking pain pills if needed (not really) but I did cancel my PT appointment. No need to annoy the muscles too much more, especially the neck ones.
So much for excitement. I have loads of DVDs that arrived on Friday so no lack of something to do while resting. I have hand sewing to keep me busy: an Easter butterfly beaded square nearly finished and just have to assemble it. And perhaps... SEEDS to get plunked into the starting soil. Oh, well, that may be too much activity for today's 'muscle resting.'
Oh yes, we had a couple inches of snow yesterday afternoon. I thought it was merry christmas rather than happy easter!!
That's the report from here.
