Sunday: The Russian Chapel

This has not been the most active break that K. and I have had but we have both been decidedly under the weather.  That said, we are staying in a lovely place with some great facilities so if we have to be not quite ourselves anywhere, it might as well be here.  Actually we are lucky to be here, rather than somewhere where we felt honour bound to pound the touristy pavements.

Consequently, we spent the morning enjoying jacuzzis, saunas and just generally relaxing.  This afternoon we rallied enough to drive over the Vršić Pass from Kranjska Gora to Bovec.  It was absolutely stunning, not least due to the 50 hairpin bends.

About a third of the way up was this Russian chapel.  The pass was built by Russian POWs in 1917 and the chapel was built to commemorate over 100 POWs who lost their lives in an avalanche.
