Flag Iris
If you have the time I think you might enjoy this LARGE
This evening we wandered along the Crinan Canal intending to get some blips from tthe bird hide beyond Bellanoch Bridge. Unfortunately the hide is no longer in its usual place. It is in pieces on the shore . Looks as if it must have been a casualty of the strong winds earlier this spring.
I had already spotted this flag iris growing near the towpath and had blipped it against the green of the banks with the blackness of the canal water adding more contrast to the lovely golden tones of this wild flower. I have some of these around our garden pond but they are no where near as far on as this one.
Roll on the rest of the summer as I love photographing all the wild flowers around this area.
